I'm a Chicago raised, Bay Area transplant; welcome to my website

Fast facts about me:

- I'm a Product Manager at JPMorgan by day,

- and avid carrot juicer in my spare time

Here I am, cheesing, on a hill near a small village named Pedrafita do Cebreiro in Spain, during my Camino de Santiago pilgrimage in 2023.

I write once a month about topics that interest me.

What will you find here?

I created this website as a form of self expression. On my site, you can expect to find my personal projects, favorite books/podcasts/music, and somewhat regular monthly blogs.

Who am I?

Besides being a freshly minted (part-time) carrot juicer, I was born near the suburbs of Chicago and graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a degree in Finance.

During college, I interned at JPMorgan within their newly created Innovation Development Program, ran ad strategy and data analytics at a startup, sold Tesla's, and helped run operations for portfolio company operations/due diligence for a private equity operating company.

Outside of class, I ran a student led marketing consulting group, tried (and failed spectacularly) to create a dating app. I also had my fun with Instagram within the fitness niche (@zavifit), then the financial literacy niche (@zavistocks), and finally, the aspiring DJ niche (@simomuzika).

What are you doing now?

I left Chicago for the Bay Area to soak up all the innovation in Silicon Valley. I work in Palo Alto at JPMorgan as a Product Manager - specifically on enabling Payment API use for our startup and enterprise clients.

On occasion, I host Baltic-silicon valley networking events, where I try to bring together Baltic founders with Bay area investors. I've also been dabbling in impov, mountaineering and trying to find the cheapest, most protein filled, 4 meal diet plan. Turkey and beans have gotten me pretty far, but I'm open to recs.

What makes you feel grounded?

Personal projects, just like this. Traveling with no plan or map. French house, saunas, and bench pressing.
